On Day 4 we hiked down to the river at Smith Rock State Park. It was really hot that day so we left Callie at the motel and gave her a day off. It was an easy hike but the return trip due to the heat was quite arduous. Fortunately the park had a sprinkler going and hikers were encouraged to cool off by soaking themselves before climbing back up the steep path. The park reminded me of Sedona, Arizona and Oak Creek. It is famous for rock climbing. Smith Rock is located in Redmond, Oregon.
